Cooking for a family

This vacancy is for a female, Christian volunteer who is able to organise their own transport.

Commitment: Weekly (as per your availability).

Responsibilities:

  • Cooking a meal each week for a family in a hotel without access to their own cooking facilities or food provision.
  • You would need to ensure that your cooking space is hygienic and clean. 
  • All ingredients used would need to be within date.
  • A full list of ingredients would need to be provided.
  • No meat products (including gelatine and lard) are to be used, and no alcohol.
  • The meal would need to be delivered directly to the family, still hot, at a time mutually agreed with the recipient and the Thrive Coordinator.

Volunteers applying to this role must be willing to agree to comply with all of Thrive Leicester’s policies and procedures, and have an up-to-date DBS check, and sign a Volunteer Agreement form. They must also be in full agreement with our vision and abide by our values, and agree with our statement of faith. The Safer-Recruitment process will be followed, including taking references and an interview process.
