The Thrive Coordinator, Kat Gibson, oversees the Thrive volunteer team, and is responsible for ground-level governance and oversight of Thrive’s day-to-day activities. The Coordinator holds responsibility for safeguarding within Thrive activities, the safer-recruitment of volunteers, and the implementation of all of Thrive Leicester’s policies and procedures.
Thrive Leicester has national oversight from a large Christian charity, and local oversight from a group of individuals with a wide range of expertise and experience, from a range of Leicester churches. This Local Oversight Group is set up for accountability, support and decision-making, and holds no legal or financial responsibility. The group meets every two months.
The Thrive Coordinator is responsible for updating both local and national oversight structures about significant developments or changes to Thrive’s activities, and is held accountable by both for decisions and practices.
