Paperwork Support

This vacancy is for a female, Christian volunteer. 

Commitment: Fortnightly or monthly, ad-hoc days as per your availability. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Meeting with an individual woman seeking asylum or with refugee status, to help her understand and complete or respond to a piece of documentation or paperwork. (Not to complete the person’s paperwork on her behalf.) 

This could include: 

  • Helping someone understand a letter that they have received, e.g. from the Home Office, from a hospital, from their child’s school, or from elsewhere.
  • Helping someone understand an email that they have received.
  • Supporting someone to complete a form that they have been sent to fill in.
  • Supporting someone to apply for a school or college place.
  • Supporting with other paperwork needs that the individual feels unable to figure out on their own. 

Volunteers applying to this role must be willing to agree to comply with all of Thrive Leicester’s policies and procedures, and have an up-to-date DBS check, and sign a Volunteer Agreement form. They must also be in full agreement with our vision and abide by our values, and agree with our statement of faith. The Safer-Recruitment process will be followed, including taking references and an interview process.
