Volunteer

There are so many ways to get involved and support this work!
Here are some ideas to spark your interest…

.

.

Most of our volunteering opportunities are subject to our Safe Recruitment processes which will include an application process, an interview, references and a DBS check if eligible. Here are some ideas of ways you could help out – let us know in the little form below what sparks your interest!

.

You could…

  • Help out with our regular Wednesday afternoon group
  • Bake / cook tasty snacks for the Wednesday group
  • Buddy up: meet weekly or fortnightly with an individual or a family who want ongoing practical help or pastoral support
  • English practice: get together with an individual, or with three or four people (weekly or fortnightly), chatting informally to practice English
  • Cook a meal once a week for a family stuck in a hotel with no food provision or cooking facilities
  • Weekly or fortnightly music or art lessons 1-1 with an individual
  • Ad-hoc practical bits (eg transporting donated items; Baby Basics referrals; trips to a clothing bank; transport to appointments; helping with group trips) – dependent on your availability
  • CV-writing/editing support 1-1 with individuals when needs arise (ad-hoc)
  • Paperwork support 1-1 with individuals when needs arise (ad-hoc)
  • Budgeting support sessions with individuals when needs arise (ad-hoc)

…What else? We’d love to hear your ideas!
