Many asylum seekers and refugees are carrying a huge amount of trauma and baggage from having to flee their home countries, and then subsequent mistreatment on the journey to the UK and once here. Here’s a fantastic course unpacking how we can support people well who live with trauma.

Many of the ladies who currently attend our groups are Kurdish – it’s an amazing culture! Learning about Kurdish traditions and culture is fascinating, and can be helpful in understanding the people we support. Here’s a website where you can learn a lot about it!

Since many of the ladies we support are Muslim, it’s helpful to learn a bit about Islam. Here are a couple of useful links that Muslim friends have sent, to help us understand some of what they believe to be most important:
